The Man Asian Literary Prize longlist has been announced, and Australian blogger Lisa Hill has organized a shadow blogger group to read and review the nominated books. I am joining four other bloggers from Australia and the UK with the goal of collectively reading through the longlist.
The judges for this year’s 2011 Man Asian Prize are chair Razia Iqbal, BBC Special Correspondent; Chang-rae Lee, Pulitzer-prize finalist and author of The Surrendered; and Vikas Swarup, author of Q&A, the basis for the film Slumdog Millionaire. They will announce the shortlist on January 10th. The longlisted novels represent Japan, Iran, China, India, Pakistan, South Korea and Bangladesh.

I am getting excited about this project! Regular readers of this blog will not be surprised if posts about world music and food show up alongside the book reviews.
Reading, music and food … a perfect combination.
Looks like and interesting assortment of titles. I am familiar with only a few of the authors. HOw I wish I had 24 hours a day that I could devote to reading.
looking forward to your review Fay ,all the best stu
